Trauma breathwork is conscious and intentional breathing that aims at releasing trauma stored in the body. When you engage in trauma breathwork intentionally, you bypass the conscious, reasoning mind. The benefit to stepping past the conscious mind is that you deactivate the sympathetic nervous system which is a network of nerves that help your body activate the fight, flight, or freeze response. When the sympathetic nervous system is inactive, it can have a restorative effect on its practitioners. 

Trauma-Breathwork is a therapeutic technique that can bring you into states of consciousness that can be supportive for healing.  Considered non-ordinary, these states of consciousness can create an opportunity for safe, deep relaxation, allowing emotions and physical movements to be expressed during the session. 

The purpose of using breathing techniques for trauma is to support and bring about self-healing through the connection to breath allowing deeply held and blocked emotions to rise to the surface and be expressed out of the body.

Why breathwork with paula?

Just anyone can breathe with me, right? No, it takes training and years of experience to learn how to not only create space for another’s healing process but also how to hold that space in a way that is safe. It is important that each client feels free to express what is necessary during their unique healing process. As a practitioner, Paula is trained to understand and meet each special situation that may arise during this process. 

Paula has been specifically trained in breathwork through the Pause Breathwork training program.  She has completed well over 60 hours of breathwork with individuals seeking healing and received her certification as an Expert Level  Trauma-Informed Breathwork Facilitator. I offer in-person appointments for breathwork. This is a 60 minute breathwork experience where you will be guided on a journey with your breath to explore themes of trust, manifestation, self love, happiness, peace and healing. In this session we will access states of relaxation, meditation, and emotional release of what is no longer serving you, bringing you to profound transformation in your body and mind. I offer online appointments through zoom. This is a 60-minute breathwork experience in which you are guided on a journey with your breath to explore themes of trust, manifestation, self-love, happiness, peace, and healing. In this session we will access states of relaxation, meditation, and emotional release of what is no longer serving you, bringing you to a profound transformation in your body and mind. Some of the benefits of doing a breathwork session online include:

It can be easier for you to let go when you are home in your safe space. You can relax in your space as long as necessary without the need to get up and leave. There are no distractions surrounding you. My facilitation is through headphones or speakers and is easy to hear. There’s no need to drive anywhere in your extremely relaxed state.
